After yet another successful semester, Gamma Lambda has a momentum we could have only imagined years ago. As one of our chapter founder's said, "now is not the time to slow down!" So, this semester promises to be just as successful as the last!

 What's new at Gamma Lambda?

We at Gamma Lambda would like to congratulate Sean Bayless on becoming the new IFC VP of Recruitment. It has been years since we have achieved this. We hope to maintain this position for   many years to come!

New Pillars! In case you have not visited the house in a while, I am glad to inform you that our pillars are now brand new, sleek and shiny! This is just one of the few household changes that we have accomplished in the past year. Some of those changes include new shutters for the windows!

Lastly,  For you Alumni - Policy has been made that our semi-annual Gamma Lambda Newsletter will be available on the website either at the end of each semester, or by the beginning of the next. For example, the Fall 2009 Newsletter is now available! Click below to view! We realized it is better to wait until each semester is over before we recap our accomplishments. Expect the Spring 2010 Newsletter in May, 2010! As well as another Alumni Event coming this spring!

I would first and foremost like to thank all alumni and active fraters, as well as their friends and family, for coming to this event. It was a big success with nearly 60 people coming out to support Sigma Alpha Mu Gamma Lambda! Due to your support, we were able to raise over $500 for our chapter brick campaign/ scholarship fund.

I would like to let all alumni know that there is currently a Linked in group for SAMMY Alumni. All Alumni is encouraged to join this group as it is a great way to network with fellow fraters. "Linkedin" has commonly been known as the "adult facebook" and is used primarily to network on a business and professional level, feel free to join!

This chapter has been growing leaps and bounds! Listed below are some of the various achievements we have had, and some of these are as current as yesterday. Everyday is a day to further ourselves as a chapter, as men, and as brothers.

- The chapter leads the campus and is 3rd nationally among SAM chapters in Community Service Hours, amassing a whopping 1700+ hours
- The chapter hopes to have nearly 40 undergrads living within the house next year ensuring its future financial stability
- The chapter continues to win trophies in several intramural, and inter-greek events Including Homecoming, Do It to the Crowd, and others
- The chapter is revamping its educational assistance program in hopes to bring the chapter gpa among the top thrid of       organizations on campus
- The chapter size has swelled to nearly 50 members, along with our spring class, and after graduation, if all members meet the activation requirements set
forth by the chapter and the national fraternity, we look to have the 3rd or 4th highest membership on NIU's campus heading into next fall.

As for other news, our chapter newsletter is in its final stages of production, expect it available right here in PDF format before within the week!

Please note that brick order forms HAVE been sent out to alumni, this is a great chance to have your legacy enshrined on our very own front steps - don't miss out!
